Veronica Hackett is a leading real estate executive with a current focus on New York development and complex urban projects.
Her experience includes co-founding, owning and managing The Clarett Group, which has completed 9 ground-up high-rise residential developments in NYC ranging in size from 13 to 55 stories and managing entitlement and pre development work for a 1million square foot project in Los Angeles which is currently under construction by a successor entity. Clarett projects achieven wide market success and were acclaimed for superb locations, excellent design and high quality construction. Known as a talent developer, she has an exceptional on time, on budget performance reputation with partners and lenders. She has managed real estate development for Brookfield Properties, one of the US’s largest public owners of office properties and Park Tower, one of NYC’s major private office building development companies. In these positions she oversaw development in major US cities and London, developed signature office buildings for such companies as IBM and JPMorgan, worked on Hudson Yards and played a key role in the transformation of Times Square.
In addition to Mrs. Hackett’s work as a private sector developer, she has been a leading corporate and retail real estate executive in the U.S., Europe and Japan, a real estate pension fund asset manager, a real estate lender (rising from trainee to an executive officer of a predecessor bank of JPMorgan) and a Wall Street financial analyst.
Mrs. Hackett has been the recipient of several honors including WX, AREW and YWCA leadership awards. She was named one of NYC's “100 Most Influential Women in Business and “One of the 100 Most Important People in Real Estate in NYC. ” She was a trustee of the Urban Land Institute and an executive committee member of REBNY (Real Estate Board of New York). She has been on the boards of the Committee of 200, WX (New York Women Executives in Real Estate), Girls, Inc. and is currently an executive member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative of ULI. Mrs. Hackett sits on the boards of NYU’s Real Estate Institute and AP Crystals (a producer of crystals for high energy laser systems) She received an MBA in Finance from New York University and a BA in History and Economics from Notre Dame Maryland University. She is married and has one adult son.
